From June 23 – August 30, 2023 I took a Summer Vacation. I joked to friends and colleagues that I haven’t had a proper break since college and it was time to change that.
This summer:
- I traveled to Texas for the first time and Washington for the 100th time
- Went to 4 concerts
- Spent my first birthday away from my family and friends and had my first hotel birthday cake
- Ran 62.84 miles
- Walked 42.45 miles
- Did 2960 push ups, 3700 sit ups, 2220 squats, 1850 curls, and did leg lifts for a total of 18 minutes and 30 seconds
- I re-learned ひらがな and カタカナ
- Read 4 books
- Completed 1 Excel Course
I didn’t track the number of hours of movies, tv shows, anime, and random YouTube videos I watched, but that would be an impressive number.
Summer break as an adult wasn’t too different from what I remember when I was growing up. As the unofficial end of summer arrives, I’m starting to feel like I did when I had to go back to school and didn’t want summer break to end. A wise person once said, “All summer breaks must come to an end.”
So here we are. It’s September 1st and it feels like change is around the corner. There’s a sense of expectation for this mysterious something new arriving. I didn’t go back to school shopping or buy any new clothes, but I feel refreshed and ready to get back to it.
